About the President of PCInc. and the genesis of our GT Saddles. " Prior to 1986, I founded and travelled with a rock and roll band based out of Toronto, Canada. As a full time, on- the- road band we travelled extensively. Trips to Vancouver, Newfoundland and everywhere in between, became our way of life. A long tour to Florida with a stop in Rome Georgia was a definite highlight. After a decade of too many miles and too many songs, I decided to change my lifestyle and settle down with my wife whom I had hired as the singer for the band. Fact is, music is in my blood. Some may call it a curse, but real musicians call it a blessing. I have recently bought a '96 Stratocaster and a '04 Telecaster to keep my original '77 Jazz Bass company. Mickey Baker's Jazz Guitar book keeps me company every day. When I finish learning all 52 chapters, I will probably go back on the road again. I can write this knowing that my wife (who is completely computer illiterate but a great singer) may never see this page. The GT Saddles venture came about one day while having lunch with my friend, Tino. He had just closed his machine shop after 32 years of service. Still fully stocked with all the machines and tools of the trade, he was asking me how he could live a simpler lifestyle but still keep busy. That's when it hit me. |

My mind flashed back a week. I had just bought a set of compensated brass saddles because that's what you do when you have a vintage Tele bridge. I loosened the strings, removed the old saddles and installed the new ones. I tightened the strings to pitch and tried to set the height screws to the proper setting. The Low E side saddle bottomed out on the bridge and the E string was nowhere close to proper height . I loosened the strings, removed the saddles, and proceeded to file the bottom of the saddle. After I filed all 3 saddles on the bottom and the sides, I came to the conclusion that with some thought and workmanship, someone should make a quality brass saddle that would produce great tone and fit properly. Back at lunch I asked my friend to drop by the house. When he arrived, I took out my Telecaster and while pointing at the saddles, said " can we make these?". His response was, " I don't know how to make guitars!". After I explained I was only talking about the saddles, the GT Saddles were born. Tino is a master craftsman with
an impeccable eye for detail and tolerances. He insisted we only work
with the best materials and I complied. The result is a great product
that we can assure you is hand crafted and precision built. Already
two of his ex employees are helping with the production, and we are
confident that others will join our team in the near future." Gino De Santis About Project Consultants Inc. A Canadian Corporation. |
